In the spirit of Black Friday we will be having a sale at Canadian Scrapper from Thurs. Nov. 27-Sat. Nov. 29.
Don't ask me what's on sale as I haven't decided on everything yet. I do have a few things in mind but you will have to drop by to see.

Lots of new products instock

We just received a couple of shipments of new products. We have loads of Cuttlebug Embossing Folders instock now-that doesn't mean we will have them tomorrow though. They seem to fly out the doors as fast as we get them in.
We also received a few new styles of Christmas stamps.
And we have the new November Quickutz Release instock. Steph has already posted some samples in our gallery. This is the best release that Quickutz has had in a long time. My favorite is the tree border but of course the owls look great on the tree.
The branches dies were backordered along with the Nov. club dies. I have no idea when they will ship as Quickutz has been having some backorder issues lately. I wouldn't wait for the branches or club die to arrive before I get the new dies as they may be gone when they arrive.
And the Storybook 4x8 font is another great inexpensive font. It is mini sized but there aren't any numbers with them.
We have left the pricing at US at par but next order may have reflect the current exchange rate.
We have only 2 of the Jolly Gift Sets left and once they are gone that's it, no more.
Till next time.

Changes

I started a different blog message yesterday and then deleted it. We have had to make a few changes at the store and I hope everyone understands.
Due to the continuing thefts from our store-yes again we had more shop-lifiting this week. Needless to say it is now more than one person who is doing this. The incidents are increasing like crazy.
I had a whole rant about it but I figure those who steal really don't care how we feel(yes we, it affects our staff and customers, not just the owner).
Anyway, I have had to take away the toys from the store as I can not have anyone in the back classroom unless they are registered for a class or a crop-no drop in die cutting anymore-you must pre-register with names, address and phone. If you need to use our washroom(we will still allow this for now) you will need to leave your purse/bags at the front desk with our staff.
We will be displaying less and less products, so if you need more than one adhesive you will have to ask as we will probably have more tucked away.
You may pop by the store and see a Back in 2 Minutes sign-if the staff need to use the bathroom, wash their hands or such they will have to lock the doors for a minute or so. So please don't leave or be mad, we are trying our best.
We were going to have a garage sale in Oct. but we need to rethink this as we can not turn our backs or have people in the classroom. And we had some great free drop in make & takes planned and they are now cancelled till we can work out something else as we will need to have extra staff to run these.
We have had the police here and we do have a camera system installed. And we will prosecute.
I hope our good customers are not offended when we check out what they are doing when they are at the store but we now have to be very careful as it is people who have been in here before and we have helped with their projects who are stealing.
I will tell you that this has made me so sad to have to deal with this and to make changes like these but I am loosing sleep and more.
We will be holding some private events for our loyal customers to make up for this so keep an eye on your emails and if we don't have your email please give it to us.

New Products

It has been awhile since I posted on the blog but that is because we have had so many new products arriving at the store.
Loads of new Quickutz with more due in on Sept. 23-can't tell you what they are but there are some cool ones that you will want to ask Santa to pick up for you. We have the cooking dies instock.
Remember there are free club dies with qualifying purchases.
Lots of new Maya Road including stamps, chipboard, sheers and more.
And new Fancy Pants papers, kits and stamps.
Keep watching our shopping site as we keep adding more products.
Happy Scrapping.

Makes me think

Again I wasn't too sure how to title this but I really wanted to share what happened while we were away last week.
My family(DH and the 3 kids) and I drove to Nova Scotia to take my mom's ashes to where she grew up. As some of you know my mom suffered a terrible stroke and was ill for some time. It was very hard on all the family and I still have alot of difficulty dealing with her loss.
Anyway, our road trip was something out of National Lampoons for sure. I did write alot in a journal while we were in the van as I think someday it could make a great movie. I told my DH that Will Farrow would have to play him.
But what I wanted to share were the events of my mom's memorial. My mom's younger brother and wife planned the day as I just didn't know how to do it. They live out in the country on Cape Breton Island, on the Mira River and it is where my mom spent her summers in her younger days and she often went back in the summer to visit family(as did I for many years).
Now my mom's favorite colour is Lime Green, so my uncle bought a Lime Green Lawn chair and set it up on a hill over looking the river on his property near a little garden. My mom's cousin's planted a tree, there. The day started out nice and DH and I ran around doing errands while the kids help set up. Over 60 people were expected(abit much for me). And 20 minutes before we were to start the sky's opened up and it hailed and rained and thundered and there was lightening. So needless to say we could not go out side. It was a good thing that their place is large. So we began inside. My aunt said a few words and we sang a couple of songs and then we let go 45 coloured ballons(red, yellow, white and green) and everyone visited and we ate. After awhile people left as the rain wasn't letting up. After many people had left and there was only a few very close relatives, the rain suddenly stopped and the sun peeked out. We decided to spread my mom's ashes then. There were about 20 of us.
We went up on the little hill overlooking the water and the most incredible thing had happened(now I am not very good at telling things well) But when we looked out at the water there were 6 Lime Green Balloons floating in the water. No other colours, it was as if they were waiting. I do have pictures at home to show them. Again my aunt said a few words and my uncle spread my mom's ashes and everyone sang a song my mom loved. And when we finished the balloons floated away. It was the most unbelievable thing ever.
